Twilight Hack v0.1beta1 for FW 3.3

Posted by ryan

Take that Big N, Team Twiizers has released a beta version of the Twilight Hack for Firmware 3.3! We can confirm that it is up and working just as it did before! Great job guys!Per Marcan on the HackMii site:

This new version of the Twilight Hack is compatible with version 3.3 of the Wii System Menu, using the workarounds explained in previous posts. Thanks to everyone on IRC who contributed to the search for the bugs, and to tmbinc and tehpola for finding the two bugs that make this possible.

Changelog for this release:

* The Twilight Hack is now compatible with version 3.3 of the Wii System Menu.
* Improvements in video configuration. The entire console should now be visible in all video modes, and scrolling has been improved.
* For the USA version, the two variants of the hack have been packed into one save file. Just select the save slot that corresponds to your version of Twilight Pricess when you start the game.
* New savegame icons by drmr. The new icons now show which region that version of the hack is for.
* This version now tries to load boot.dol, and falls back to boot.elf if boot.dol is not found.
* ???????
* Many, many bug fixes.

Download it here. Head over to Wiibrew for more information and updates. See the included README for installation and usage instructions.

Enjoy!

Some of our valuable members here at NES-Hacks have already updated to 3.3 and confirm that it works. One of our member is reporting that the PAL version of the Hack does not like Homebrew Channel v8, however, Homebrew Channel v7 works and you can upgrade to v8 after it’s installed.

M3-Sakura-Real-iTouch Triple Boot *English Edition*

Posted by ryan

Here is something that i have yet to see made news anywhere. Rudolph has managed to triple boot M3 Sakura, M3DS Real, and iTouch DS all into the M3DS Real flashcart. FiRsT-aNd-LaSt over at GBAtemp has compiled the files using batch files from Rudolph.

Rudolph Blog
GBAtemp Discussion

Put the contents of the file on the root of you sd.
It runs in Sakura automaticly, press X for M3Real firmware, and press Y for iTouchDS firmware.

Well I know alot of people have been wanting this and it’s finally here. The file below contains the following:

M3/G6 English Firmware v3.7e
iTouchDS English Loader v1.8
Sakura Unofficial Hacked English 1.11x With SP1

Plus all the skins of my other bundle and the updated CHEAT.db (6-15-08) “Thanks to Narin and all his hard work!”

All three are booting up and playing NDS and GBA games, I’m unsure if anything has changed with homebrew support.

The file contains a READ ME and I suggest you read it, it contains important information.

*As a warning don’t change any of the files within the SYSTEM folder or you risk the Triple Boot Loader to work incorrectly!*

This has been tested on my M3Real Perfect (English) and is known to work.

Thanks all goes to Rudolph for making this all possible and some credit for me I guess for configuring it to boot all english.

ENJOY!

Wii will Wait for Wii Miidia

Posted by ryan

The impending release of the Wii’s first homebrew media player is upon us. Now you’ll be able to play back many common video and audio formats on your Wii! In fact, look at the features list:

Wii Miidia as you can guess is a Media Center for the Nintendo Wii based off of XBMC. Since the Wii comes with it’s own Weather Channel I had decided to strip the weather functions from Wii Miidia. There are still a few bugs that I am trying to work out but one of the best features this offers in my opinion is the ability to listen to Shoutcast Radio on the Wii. Right now this only supports streaming files and files stored on the SD Card, however since there is recent developments by SVPE I hope to be able to include USB Storage devices as well in the future.

Video Support:
MPEG, MPEG2, MPEG4, DIVX, XVID, MOV, WMV, VOB and more.

Audio Support:
AAC, MP3, WMA, WAV, OGG, MID and more.

No release yet, but stay tuned for a release in the next little while. Only a .elf release at first, but as this project gets more in-depth, it will be released as a channel. We’ll update you on a release!

DS2Win Fusion v0.82

Posted by ryan

Ever want to control your PC from the DS? monkeynz has released an application that does that, or somewhat similar.

DS2Win Fusion is a program designed to allow you to do ALL the things you could do with your PC, harnessing the
wireless capabilities and touch screen for maximum usability. Play movies, games and browse the net, check emails,
the sky is the limit! All you need is a windows PC and a wireless router or card.

This is an customized build of the Win2DS client and server, both the client and server have been enhanced
to provide new features, higher speed and service quality.

Note: This release will need to be DLDI patched before using (unless you have a R4DS like me and its done automatically)

Changelog:
———-

0.82 “final version”
server - movie name and frameskip are now shown while playing movies in player
client - custom keys are saved to memory card
client - recompiled with devkitpro r23

If you have trouble getting this to work PLEASE read the readme.txt file included very carefully and follow the instructions.

Sudoku for the Wii

Posted by ryan

Sudoku is an extremely popular puzzle game which has already found its way into the Nintendo DS and PSP homebrew scenes. Now the game has found a place in the Wiibrew scene, thanks to developer dlkj.

Sudoku for the Wii uses the Wiimote as a classic controller - that is, you use it sideways. You use the directional pad to move your cursor, button 1 to decrement the digits, and button 2 to increment it. You can check out the rest of the controls in the readme.

The program also comes with several features you may find useful, including the ability to mark squares as “uncertain,” and the ability to save the game on your SD card. This is the first version of the game, and the developer hopes to add more features in future versions

Tetattds 3.0 for DS

Posted by ryan

What’s new in 3.0:

* Local Wifi
* Host game on DS
* SDL port for PC
* Lots of changes in the code

It’s been a long time since there was any news on Tetattds. Two big things has happened. The first is that we ported Tetattds to SDL so that it can run on PC during the last year. The purpose for this was that we wanted to be able test new features with access to a debugger. If we ever would add a big feature like AI players this would be very useful, although we probably never will. Another reason was to see if it was even possible. It was but the code is now in a mess.
