K ive been off the Wii scene for a bit.

I need have a wiikey, and i need to know what the latest updates are so that i can play SMG. Is v1.9g or 1.9b newer, the tutorial has both but doesnt really make that clear. I assume i only need 1 of them?

So this is what I think i know:

The latest wiikey version is v1.9b and this will allow me to play metroid prime: corruption and super mario galaxy (both PAL versions on my PAL console).

The latest update disc is v1.3?

Also when i try to connect to Wii Shop Channel it tells me i need to receive the new Wii System Update. I have Ver. 3.0E

Wats the new versions and is it safe to update to this. Or should i upgrade my wiikey using v1.9b and the v1.3 disc?

Yeh but i thought that was just to scare us and make sure that nintendo arent liable for any damage..?

still im not sure if the new update will afect it in a bad way, still waiting for a reply on my other post to confirm =]

btw i just researched on the net,
I found a lot of people have had problems with 1.9g.
After a while the Wii stops reading backup discs all together!

hmm so what precautions should i take before updating, and can you tell me in what order.

eg. 1 - update firmware to 3.1
2 - update wiikey to v1.9

And has anyone had problems with v1.9g?

and by the sounds of it i dont even need to use the 1.3 set up disc? I dont use gc backups...

P.S. I am using a PAL Wii with a PAL Backup of SMG

Can this be added to the tutorial, as a part of the "my disc gives me a read error"?:
I had that problem with everything, and I fixed it by using a recovery dvd. For some reason, my chips firmware arrived corrupted. So using a recovery dvd should be part of the answer to that question.
