Nintendo of America confirms release date

January 24, 2007 – If there has been one game the majority of Wii owners have been patiently awaiting for the virtual console, it’s been Mario Kart 64. This game will be the second Nintendo 64 title made available on the virtual console. Nintendo of America confirmed on Tuesday that Mario Kart 64 would be made available on the US Wii Shopping Channel 1/29/2007.
Mario Kart 64 puts the player in control of classic Nintendo characters driving go-karts and navigating through elaborate Nintendo game-based environments while utilizing special power-ups. This title will forever be known for it’s multiplayer experience. Nothing is more satisfying than firing a red shell and popping your opponents last balloon!
