With the recent release of the Twilight Hack, homebrew development has increased rapidly.
Today, there’s an MP3 player, a Linux proof-of-concept, a Dreamcast ROM conversion tool(no download as of yet), and an SNES emulator.

what the hell do i need to learn to develope homebrew myself, nintendo homebrew is taking to frikin long. what is like A+… or something along those lines?? is there a way to create an iso loader from an sd card??

just like i said, there is this gamecube emulator that runs on great speed, but it can’t find any controller, not the wii-mote + classic controller nor Gamecube controller

You need a copy of zelda, and a gamecube sd card reader (I forget what it’s called). You don’t need a modded wii.
in fact you just need a zelda or a backup of it (with a modchip installed) and the hacked savegame for it (and an sd card). it should soon be possible to start programs just of the sd without the card reader (it’s called gecko sd adapter). you can even built your own sd adapter if you are unpatient.

What is a ROM? Read only memory. Therefore an ISO can be a ROM too. (I.E Sonic Adventure 1 ROM)

When you talk about rom you mean games obtained from a cartridge, when we talk about rips from CD or DVD we use ISO, like Dreamcast. I understand what you said about “Read Only memory”, But if you’re in the scene we both know that it means cartridge and not Optical media
a rom is backup up game in an arcade format, an iso is a disc image.

Just pick any file that is large, it can be any type of file, and rename it padding and stick in with the other files. You are trying to make a image larger than a CD (700mb). The Wii reads DVD’s so you are trying to create a large image so it thinks it is a legitimate DVD.
Actually… now that I read your comment again create a padded file, the same way I described above, and put it with the other files on your SD card for padding.

Ok, not to sound like a complete dick here but is the person in charge of writing updates ever gonna fill the good people of dash-hacks in on all the new devolepments in the homebrew scene? Like I mentioned, i’m sure I’ll get tons of hate mail responses about this but seriously i’ve checked at least 5 other wii homebrew sites and all of them have more up to date info on the scene EXCEPT this one and It’s just kinda sucks for all those people hoping and wishing to see some real advancements and replying on this page for it. A word to the wise for all those who may be frequent viewers to this page who are wondering what else is out already…..Go find another wii homebrew page cuz the guy in charge of this one really doesn’t update often enough. there have been at least 2 huge updates in wii homebrew and this guy doesn’t even bother to mention them once. well happy broswing to all the people who read this and don’t freak out on me over a negitive comment. The rest of you hopefully will get raped by a cactus.

to consider, there are a lot of emulators for WII, like NES GNUBOY, a working Snes emu, atari and many more, i hope this message will wake up the moderator from this site, because its bleeding to death.
