Will is still outselling PS3 according to analysts. In channel check of 52 retail stores, 28 had Ps3 consoles in stock, none had Wii. This presents some interesting questions. Do people think the Wii is a better console because it is more fun or more revolutionary? Are the people buying Wii the hardcore gamers? Or has Nintendo tapped a new market of people who either aren’t gamers or haven’t been for quite some time?
Sony it seems has shot themselves in the foot by rushing a product to market at an incredibly high price point with very little benefit. The Blue Ray - HDDVD war is still raging and it makes little sense that sony would include this drive that reportedly cost $350 to include. The Blue Ray disk wont make gaming better, it is merely a marketing ploy to try and get people to embrace the technology. You would think they would have learned from Betamax, Mini Disk, UMD, etc. Its sad that I am actually standing behind Microsoft, as a Linux user I should be backing Sony to win the “console war”.
It has become apparent that many hardcore gamers are buying the Wii and keeping there 360. Wii has new innovative games which is a reason to purchase it. It also has a fairly low price tag. The few games that the PS3 offers are mostly 360 ports and really provide no incentive to someone with a 360 or someone wanting to buy a new system. I predict PS3 will sink just like the DreamCast. Sega sold over a million DreamCast on launch but they made a lot of the same fatal mistakes Sony is making. Nintendo and Microsoft have WAY deeper pockets than Sony. Nintendo profits on every Wii sold and is a huge publisher of games for their system which equals huge profits. Microsoft was selling at a big loss when 360 was first released, but Microsoft can afford the write off, they actually have massive profits as a software company so the only person really losing is the tax man.
Next Christmas will really be the time to judge who won and who lost, but as of right now, Wii appears to be the underdog that will sell the most consoles which is what this game is all about. 360 will most likely be the high end graphics console of choice and that is fine by me.

They are deliberately slowing production down cause they know people are morons and want it just because they can’t buy one. I want one but now they can stick it. I’ll wait for the next generation.
